ubuntuに乗り換えて困ったことがあります。
それは、pidginのメッセンジャーのファイル転送が遅いことです。

色々ぐぐってみると
Gaim only supports tranferring files over MSN via the MSNservers.
This means all your data is sent to an MSN server and then forwarded to the person at the other end of the transfer.
It is unknown whether we will support true peer to peer file transfer over MSN.
ということで、pidginはファイル転送が限りなく遅いようです。(ちなみにGaimは旧名)

次に試したのが、kopete。
インストールして動作確認したところこれまた遅い。

よし、次っ！ということで試したのはaMSN。

動作確認しつつぐぐると、これが比較的転送速度が早いよう。
出てくる絵がいちいちダサかったりするけど、とりあえず今後はこれを使うことにします。。。。
